Ron started chassis building at a young age starting with his own top gas dragster and then his own top fuel car. In 1971 he had his first paying customer, Frank Bradley. Top fuel dragsters for many others followed such as Shirley Muldowney, Jeb Allen, Gary Beck, Warren & Coburn, Dennis Baca and even T.V. Tommy Ivo’s Jet Dragster. Soon after he stepped away from Top Fuel Dragster chassis building the street rods were not far behind, and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s built countless chassis for customers all over the United States and Australia, and numerous award winning turn-key Street Rods.
Matt has been with Attebury Street Rods since 1999. Young and impressionable, a fresh graduate straight from high school, Matt simply walked into the shop one day and asked for a chance to prove his skills were valuable and surprisingly Ron gave him a chance. A native of Morgan Hill CA, he took auto shop and welding at Live Oak High school and spent most of his days wrenching on his 1968 California Special Ford Mustang passed down by his parents. With as many speeding tickets and late night races he racked up, he proved he could tune a hot rod, and later confirmed he had the fabricating skills to produce many of those award winning street rods that have exited the shop for years. Matt still has his ’68 CS, along with a ’65 Coupe Deville and many other road and water toys.
